How active they have been in the last 12 months is a better measure. If you are selling your home, look for a Realtor who is familiar with your neighborhood. Your Realtor should be able to prepare a detailed Competitive Market Analysis (CMA) which compares your home with others in the neighborhood that have been listed for sale or have sold in recent months. Your Realtor should also be able to point out the benefits your community offers, including nearby schools, shopping areas, local services and facilities, and community organizations. Client testimonials can be the key to finding a realtor who can provide the level of service you want and need. While many may recommend working with experienced realtors, new Realtors can provide equally professional service. For new Realtors, it often depends on the training and support they receive from their Broker, as well as the kinds of marketing resources available through their firm. If you are selling your home, ask the ways he or she will market your home. Spend ample time talking to a Realtor to determine if you can communicate well and understand each other. Outline your expectations and work together to develop a plan. The right Realtor can make all the difference!

Interest in New Construction?
Call on us to help you locate and walk you through each phase of your new home as it is being built. Some feel that if you are using a builder that you will not need the assistance of a Realtor. Actually the opposite is true. It is the LAW in Maryland, that any agent or Realtor may only represent the interest of the Seller OR the Buyer and NEVER both in any real estate transaction. The builder, land owner or developer, in these cases, are the Sellers, and their staff and front office agents are NOT representing your best interest. You should ALWAYS retain a Realtor to protect your best interest in any real estate transaction.
